The second prototype my partner and I created was a mobile app for Ability Media Group. We wanted the app to just be a mobile version of the main website. In the app one can get all the same information. After identifying some improvements through user testing and reviews, we were able to make these changes and make them part of the app. Some of the changes were small including user only one tone of yellow instead of two. We also reorganized the way in which the videos and articles would be displayed so that one can view multiple without having to scroll as much.
The app can be used to identify all current Board of Advisors as well as interns. Each Board of Advisor, staff member, and intern has their own personal page where one can read their biography. The app can also be used to access all of the featured videos and articles. Lastly, one can also access the websites resources page which lists many different organizations that align with Ability Media’s mission or values.
This app had its own set of challenges but it was also fun because we were able to create the app from the ground up instead of redesigning one. That being said, the challenges we had were because there wasn’t an app like this. We found it to be a challenge to find other competitors apps and therefore our sense of direction wasn’t as clear or well executed. In the end I am happy with how our app turned out.
