Nora Carr currently lives in Ridgefield, Connecticut. She obtained her Bachelor’s of Art Degree in Graphic and Interactive Design from Quinnipiac University. She also minored in Public Relations. Since her graduation in 2021, Nora has been enrolled in Pratt’s School of Continuing Education for their Branding and Marketing Certificate Program.

She decided to go into graphic design because she has always been a creative yet thoughtful person. Some of her earliest memories of artistic expression include elementary school computer lab and when she designed her first pair of Nike sneakers for her birthday.

Currently, Nora would describe herself as passionate, empathetic, and hard working. One of the reasons why she loves graphic design is because there are so many elements that fall under being a graphic designer. She particularly enjoys typography, editorial design, UX/UI, wireframing, prototyping, journey/empathy mapping, and creating mood boards to name a few. She not only has working knowledge in all of these areas but many others too. In addition, she is also knowledgeable and proficient in branding, brand identity, marketing, marketing strategy, as well as social media trends and analytics from her time at QU and as an enrollee at Pratt.

Aside from graphic design, Nora has many other passions and hobbies. She is a huge sports fan who particularly likes ice hockey and baseball. Her favorites teams are the New York Rangers and New York Yankees. She also enjoys listening to a variety of music, watching YouTube videos, chatting with friends, and spending time with her family which includes a Maine Coon cat named Sophie. She has also been involved in a number of fundraisers– the most recent one taking place in 2022 when she raised $1,300 for a children’s hospital. To say giving back and helping others is close to her heart would be an understatement.

As of right now, Nora is hoping to not only grow and develop as a graphic designer and professional, but also wants to use the skills she has acquired to benefit an individual, brand, agency, or all of the above. Ever since graduation, her goal was to not only become employed but to truly love and be passionate about what she does. After all “you’ll never work a day in your life if you truly love what you do.”
